A weekend retreat cabin on the hills of Central Washington State.  Designed around the concept of capturing an axial view of shallow glen, two rusted steel shells shelter two softer wooden elements.   On one side is a bedroom suite with a bathing tub facing the view and on the other a living area with a lofted sleeping area.  Exterior materials were chosen not only to fit within the surroundings but also provide fire resistance during the hot arid summer months.  Researched various wood like siding materials and selected a composite recycled material with an inherent color and texture variation.
